The API is not available yet. This page exists so you can judge whether it will fit before we ship it, and so you can tell us what you need while that still changes the design.
What it will be
A small HTTP interface for the thing we already do: you send a photo and the identifier of a document, and you get back a compliant image plus the list of checks with their results. The same engine that serves the website — not a separate, lesser version of it.
Planned to be in the first release:
- The document catalogue, so your own interface can offer the same documents.
- Upload and process, returning the checks with a clear pass, warning or failure for each.
- The finished image, and the print sheets.
- Webhooks, so you are told when a photo is ready instead of polling.
Who it is for
Travel agencies, visa services, HR systems, photo kiosks and anyone with a form that already asks for a photo. If your users upload a face and somebody later has to reject it by hand, this replaces that person's afternoon.
How it will be sold
By subscription, with a monthly volume and a rate limit per plan, and keys you create and revoke yourself. API traffic will support a no-retention mode: the photo is processed and nothing is kept.

The most useful thing you can do now is write to us from the contact page with Studios and API as the subject, and describe your case in three lines: what you build, how many photos a month, and which documents. That is what decides what ships first.
