These terms govern your use of TakPhoto: the website, the mobile apps, the studio dashboard and the developer API. By uploading a photo or paying for an order you accept them. If you do not accept them, please do not use the service.
Who we are
TakPhoto is operated by <OWNER_NAME>, an individual trader established in Türkiye. Write to us at <SUPPORT_EMAIL>; we answer within one working day.
For purchases made on this website, the seller of record is Paddle.com Market Ltd, which acts as Merchant of Record: Paddle sells the product to you, issues the invoice, collects and remits VAT and sales tax, and is the party your bank statement will name. Paddle's own buyer terms apply to that transaction alongside these terms. For purchases made inside the iOS or Android app, the seller is Apple or Google under their store terms.
What the service does
You upload a photo. Our servers straighten it, remove its metadata, separate you from the background, crop the frame to the rules of the document you chose, run automatic checks, and produce a digital file and, where the document allows it, a print sheet. A trained reviewer looks at the result if you buy the reviewed product.
We do not change your facial features. No slimming, no smoothing of who you are, no reshaping: the optional light retouch removes transient blemishes and glare only, never a mole, a scar or a permanent feature, and it is off by default for official documents. What comes back is you, framed to the specification.
Orders, links and accounts
You do not need an account to buy one photo. An order is reachable through a secret link we give you in the browser and by email; treat that link as a password, because anyone holding it can open and download the order. We store only a hash of it, so we cannot recover a lost link — but we can send a fresh one to the email address on the order.
An account (a sign-in link sent to your email — there is no password) lets you see your orders on any device, export your data and delete everything at once. Studio and API accounts are subject to the same terms plus the plan you subscribe to.
Acceptable use
- Upload only a photo of yourself, or of a person who has asked you to do it — a child in your care, a family member, or a customer who is present and has agreed.
- Do not upload a photo of someone who has not agreed, a photo you have no right to use, or anything that is not a portrait of a person.
- Do not use the service to produce a photo intended to deceive an authority about who you are.
- Do not attack the service: no automated abuse of the upload endpoint, no attempt to reach an order that is not yours, no circumvention of rate limits or of the bot check.
- Use the API only with the key issued to you, within the limits of your plan.
We may suspend or refuse service where we see abuse, and we may keep the minimum record needed to defend against it.
Your photo stays yours
You keep every right in the photo you upload and in the result we produce. You grant us only the narrow licence we need to run the service: to store, process and deliver your photo for your order, and nothing else. We do not sell it, we do not publish it, we do not hand it to anyone else, and we do not use it to train a model — ours or anybody's.
The software, the document specifications, the texts and the design of TakPhoto stay ours. You may not copy the document database wholesale or resell access to it.
Prices and payment
Prices are shown in your local currency before you pay, including the tax due for your country, and the checkout shows the final amount. You pay once per photo; there is no subscription for individuals. Studios and API customers pay a recurring plan described on the pricing page.
Nothing is delivered without a watermark before payment. After payment you can download your file for the retention period, and re-download it at no extra cost within that window.
Refunds
Our refund policy is part of these terms. In short: we refund a technical failure on our side in full, and we do not refund a change of mind once you have downloaded a working file.
How long we keep your photo
Paid orders and their files are deleted automatically 30 days after the order is created. Orders that were never paid are deleted within 24 hours. You can delete an order and every file belonging to it immediately, from the order page or from your account, and that deletion removes the data from our database and our object storage at once. The privacy policy describes this in full.
What we do not promise
We do not guarantee that an authority will accept your photo. Our checks follow the published requirements for each document, and for documents marked "verified" we have read the official source ourselves — but the decision belongs to the office or the online system you submit to, which may apply judgement we cannot see, and requirements change without notice. If a document page carries a "standard" badge, its measurements come from a size database and ICAO practice rather than from a rule we have read at the source.
The service is provided as it is. We do not promise it will be uninterrupted, and we do not promise a result for a photo we cannot work with (a face we cannot find, a resolution too low, a file we cannot decode).
Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, our total liability for any claim connected with the service is limited to the amount you paid for the order the claim concerns. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss — a missed appointment, a delayed application, a travel cost, a rejected form. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.
Nothing in these terms affects the mandatory consumer rights you have where you live.
Changes to these terms
We may change these terms — to describe a new feature, or because the law changes. The date at the top of this page is the date of the current version. A change that materially affects you will be announced on the site, and, if you have an account, by email, before it takes effect. Continuing to use the service after that date means you accept the new version.
Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the Republic of Türkiye, and the courts of Türkiye have jurisdiction — except where the law of your own country of residence gives you the right to bring a consumer claim at home, which we do not take away.
